Hear the stories of these Wings With Tales - 35 historic and vintage aircraft including Adm. Byrd's Stars and Stripes, reproduction Wright Flyer and gliders and a rare SR-71 Blackbird. Home of the Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame.

Knowledgeable volunteers are happy to tell the interesting tales of the planes, such as the 1936 Vultee V1-A that flew Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Examine Admiral Byrd's Stars and Stripes, the first American research plane to fly over Antarctica.

Examine one of the largest collections of airworthy Wright Brothers reproduction aircraft in the world including the 1899 kite, 1900,1901 and 1902 gliders, and a 1903 Flyer. Practice takeoffs and landings on the Flight Simulator.

You can't miss the rare SR-71 Blackbird perched on the front lawn.

Hours of Admission:
Mon-Sat 9:30 am- 5 pm,
Sun 12 Noon-5 pm.
Closed Thanksgiving and Dec 25th.

Admission is Fee Based
Member of ASTC. Self-guided.

Directions to the Museum:
From I-64 take Exit 197A to Richmond International Airport (1/2 mile).
From I-295 take Exit 31B to Richmond International Airport (3.5 miles).
The museum has the SR-71 on the front lawn! Parking is free.
